Krista gained clarity on her place in agriculture with over 10 years of experience in farming and as a professional working in agriculture economics.
Meet Krista Swanson
Krista was raised on an Illinois grain farm, but didn’t always plan on a career in agriculture. As she worked to earn a B.S. in Crop Sciences and M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois, she gained clarity on her place in agriculture. Krista has over ten years of agriculture economics related work experience in various roles from farm tax accountant to loan portfolio analyst, from farm policy research analyst to her current position as lead economist for a national commodity organization.
Agriculture extends beyond a career for Krista, it’s also a way of life. Krista and her husband own and operate a seed business and actively farm with his family where they raise crops, livestock, and four kids on the farm. Agriculture economics has importance in those businesses, but Krista has experienced how economic principals also tie into life, leadership, and purpose. Krista loves family time, is grounded in faith, and grateful to be a part of agriculture on several levels.
Through AgSCOPE, Krista seeks to magnify strategy, current events, opportunity, policy, and economics in agriculture. Krista uses her skills to observe and analyze the AgSCOPE subjects, and then extends those findings in her work as a consultant and speaker. Krista is committed to working with each event to create a unique plan to deliver value to the audience and assist in achieving organizational goals for the event in a fun, approachable way.

Krista will assist you in creating a custom proposal for your next event or project and execute the strategy.
Let’s magnify strategy, current events, opportunity, policy, and economics in agriculture together.
